About - Hi, I’m Simon Colman.

I’m a full stack software engineer building Balance Compare — a simplified platform for trend analysis and breakout trading.

Balance Compare exists because I wanted a clean, rules-based way to compare markets, stay aligned with the dominant trend, and focus on high-conviction breakouts — without drowning in indicators.

I used my experience as a software engineer, combined with my interests in trend following, options, and market analysis, to build a platform that’s practical: identify a trend, define the structure, then wait for clear breakout conditions.

The platform uses market data (including from Interactive Brokers (IBKR)) to generate trend context and actionable levels.
